Text: Genesis 5:2-24 Enoch walked with God, and He was not forgotten. Enoch, son of Cain, was specially treated by God.
He was God’s favorite because he moved, made a choice to walk step by step daily with God and obtained the benefits thereof. Billions of people walked with their loved ones and peers but regret or failed in the end. Walking with God made somebody to have the good benefits in Him. The Benefits of Walking with God.
1. Favor, mercy and blessings of God will be upon you. God will honor those who honor Him – 1 Samuel 2:30
2. You will be able to be victorious in life – The victorious life is determined by your decision to walk with God. Life minus God will give Satan a chance to take advantage of you. Leaving God is an open door for the devil to walk with you.
3. Walking with God guarantees ultimate reward in heaven. You are a peculiar person, a visitor and an alien in this world. Enoch was taken away by God Himself (not the enemy) for he was not an ordinary man but a unique property of God who walked with Him which qualified him for an ultimate reward.
FOUR WAYS TO WALK WITH GOD
1. You must align your daily journey with His will. You don’t own your life, as your will must be subject to God’s will, so you may not miss the reward. Jesus saw the great challenge to the cross yet He said His Father’s will be done. Never choose your own will. Don’t let Satan control the steering wheel of your life.
2. Have a close relationship with God. Choose to be with God in you. Don’t be ashamed to walk with Him. Genesis 17:1 – Walk with me and be perfect. Verse 16 – God never talked with Abraham when he misbehaved. Develop intimacy, have great time with God and hear His voice.
3. Constant learning – you must carry along a teachable spirit. Jesus said, Learn from me. He will instruct you.
4. Let the spirit of obedience be in you. Instructions are not for the arrogant. God will test you along the way. Pass the test to be promoted to a higher level. Respect God above all.
The spirit that obeys and follows God is highly needed. Continue to walk with God and make your life a danger zone for and to the enemy.
